[우리말성경]제17장
예수께서 기도하심
1. 예수께서 이 말씀을 하시고 눈을 들어 하늘을 우러러보시며 기도하셨습니다. “아버지여, 때가 됐습니다. 아들이 아버지께 영광을 돌릴 수 있도록 아들을 영광스럽게 하소서.
2. 아버지께서는 아들에게 주신 모든 사람에게 영생을 주게 하시려고 모든 사람을 다스리는 권세를 아들에게 주셨습니다.
3. 영생은 오직 한 분이신 참 하나님 아버지와 아버지께서 보내신 예수 그리스도를 아는 것입니다.
4. 나는 아버지께서 맡겨 주신 일을 다 완성해 이 땅에서 아버지께 영광을 돌려 드렸습니다.
5. 아버지여, 창세 전에 내가 아버지와 함께 누렸던 그 영광으로 이제 아버지 앞에서 나를 영광스럽게 하소서.”
제자들을 위해 기도하심
6. “나는 아버지께서 세상에서 택하셔서 내게 주신 사람들에게 아버지의 이름을 나타냈습니다. 그들은 아버지의 것이었는데 아버지께서 내게 주셨고 그들은 아버지의 말씀을 지켰습니다.
7. 이제 그들은 아버지께서 내게 주신 모든 것이 다 아버지께로부터 온 것임을 알고 있습니다.
8. 나는 아버지께서 내게 주신 말씀을 그들에게 주었습니다. 그들은 그 말씀을 받아들였으며 내가 아버지께로부터 온 것을 진정으로 알았고 또 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것을 믿었습니다.
9. 이제 내가 그들을 위해서 기도합니다. 내가 세상을 위해 기도하는 것이 아니고 아버지께서 내게 주신 사람들을 위해 기도하는 것은 그들이 모두 아버지의 사람들이기 때문입니다.
10. 내 것은 모두 아버지의 것이며 아버지의 것은 모두 내 것입니다. 그리고 나는 그들을 통해 영광을 받았습니다.
11. 나는 더 이상 이 세상에 있지 않겠지만 그들은 아직 세상에 있고 나는 아버지께로 갑니다. 거룩하신 아버지여, 아버지께서 내게 주신 아버지의 이름으로 그들을 지켜 주셔서 우리가 하나인 것같이 그들도 하나가 되게 하소서.
12. 내가 그들과 함께 지내는 동안 아버지께서 내게 주신 아버지의 이름으로 내가 그들을 지키고 보호했습니다. 멸망의 자식 외에는 그들 가운데 한 사람도 잃어버리지 않았습니다. 이것은 성경을 이루기 위함이었습니다.
13. 그러나 이제 나는 아버지께로 갑니다. 내가 세상에서 이것을 말하는 것은 내 기쁨이 그들 속에 충만하게 하려는 것입니다.
14. 나는 그들에게 아버지의 말씀을 주었는데 세상은 그들을 미워했습니다. 내가 세상에 속해 있지 않은 것처럼 그들도 세상에 속해 있지 않기 때문입니다.
15. 내가 아버지께 기도하는 것은 아버지께서 그들을 세상에서 데려가 달라는 것이 아니라 악한 자로부터 그들을 보호해 달라는 것입니다.
16. 내가 세상에 속하지 않은 것처럼 그들도 세상에 속하지 않았습니다.
17. 진리로 그들을 거룩하게 해 주소서. 아버지의 말씀은 진리입니다.
18. 아버지께서 나를 세상에 보내신 것같이 나도 그들을 세상에 보냅니다.
19. 그들을 위해 내가 나를 거룩하게 하는 것은 그들도 진리로 거룩하게 하려는 것입니다.
20. 내 기도는 이 사람들만을 위한 것이 아닙니다. 이 사람들이 전하는 말을 듣고 나를 믿는 사람들을 위해서도 기도합니다.
21. 아버지여, 아버지께서 내 안에 계시고 내가 아버지 안에 있는 것같이 그들도 모두 하나가 되게 하시고 그들도 우리 안에 있게 해 아버지께서 나를 보내셨다는 것을 세상이 믿게 하소서.
22. 아버지께서 내게 주신 영광을 내가 그들에게 주었습니다. 이것은 우리가 하나인 것같이 그들도 하나가 되게 하려는 것입니다.
23. 내가 그들 안에 있고 아버지께서 내 안에 계신 것은 그들이 완전히 하나가 되게 하려는 것입니다. 그것은 또, 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것과 아버지께서 나를 사랑하신 것처럼 그들도 사랑하셨다는 것을 세상이 알게 하려는 것입니다.
24. 아버지여, 아버지께서 내게 주신 사람들이 내가 있는 곳에 나와 함께 있어 내 영광, 곧 아버지께서 세상이 창조되기 전부터 나를 사랑하셔서 내게 주신 영광을 그들도 보게 하소서.
25. 의로우신 아버지여, 세상은 아버지를 알지 못하지만 나는 아버지를 알며 이 사람들도 아버지께서 나를 보내신 것을 알고 있습니다.
26. 나는 그들에게 아버지를 알렸고 또 앞으로도 계속 아버지를 알게 해 나를 사랑하신 아버지의 그 사랑이 그들 안에 있고 나도 그들 안에 있게 할 것입니다.”
NIV]제17장
1. After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.
2. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him.
3. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
4. I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.
5. And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
6. "I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word.
7. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you.
8. For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.
9. I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours.
10. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.
11. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name -- the name you gave me -- so that they may be one as we are one.
12. While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.
13. "I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.
14. I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.
15. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
16. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.
17. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
18. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.
19. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.
20. "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,
21. that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
22. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one:
23. I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.
24. "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
25. "Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me.
26. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."

배신당하고 체포되심
1. 예수께서 이 기도의 말씀을 하신 뒤 제자들과 함께 기드론 골짜기 건너편으로 가셨습니다. 거기에는 동산이 하나 있었는데 예수와 제자들이 그곳으로 들어갔습니다.
2. 그곳은 예수께서 제자들과 가끔 모이던 곳이어서 예수를 배반한 유다도 알고 있었습니다.
3. 유다는 로마 군인들과 대제사장들과 바리새파 사람들이 보낸 경비병들을 데리고 그곳으로 왔습니다. 그들은 횃불과 등불과 무기를 들고 있었습니다.
4. 예수께서는 자기가 당할 모든 일을 아시고 앞으로 나와 그들에게 물으셨습니다. “너희가 누구를 찾느냐?”
5. 그들이 대답했습니다. “나사렛 사람 예수요.” 예수께서 그들에게 말씀하셨습니다. “내가 그 사람이다.” 배반자 유다도 그들과 함께 거기에 서 있었습니다.
6. 예수께서 “내가 그 사람이다” 하시자 그들은 뒤로 물러나 땅에 엎드러졌습니다.
7. 예수께서 그들에게 다시 물으셨습니다. “너희가 누구를 찾느냐?” 그러자 그들이 대답했습니다. “나사렛 사람 예수요.”
8. 예수께서 대답하셨습니다. “‘내가 그 사람이다’라고 말하지 않았느냐? 너희가 나를 찾고 있다면 이 사람들은 보내 주라.”
9. 이것은 예수께서 ‘아버지께서 내게 주신 사람들 중 한 사람도 잃지 않았습니다’라고 하신 말씀을 이루기 위한 것이었습니다.
10. 그때 시몬 베드로가 칼을 가지고 있었는데 그가 칼을 빼어 대제사장의 종을 쳐서 오른쪽 귀를 베어 버렸습니다. 그 종의 이름은 말고였습니다.
11. 그때 예수께서 베드로에게 말씀하셨습니다. “네 칼을 칼집에 꽂아라. 아버지께서 주신 잔을 내가 받아 마셔야 하지 않겠느냐?”
12. 군인들과 천부장과 유대 사람의 경비병들이 예수를 체포했습니다. 그들은 예수를 묶어서
13. 먼저 그해의 대제사장 가야바의 장인인 안나스에게로 끌고 갔습니다.
14. 가야바는 전에 ‘한 사람이 백성들을 위해 죽는 것이 유익하다’라고 유대 사람들에게 조언했던 바로 그 사람입니다.
베드로의 부인과 대제사장의 심문
15. 시몬 베드로와 또 다른 제자 한 사람이 예수를 따라갔습니다. 이 제자는 대제사장과 아는 사이였기 때문에 예수와 함께 대제사장 집의 마당 안으로 들어갔습니다.
16. 그러나 베드로는 문 밖에서 기다려야 했습니다. 대제사장과 아는 사이인 그 제자가 나와서 문지기 하녀에게 말해 베드로를 들어오게 했습니다.
17. 문지기 하녀가 베드로에게 물었습니다. “당신도 이 사람의 제자 중 한 사람이지요?” 베드로가 대답했습니다. “나는 아니오.”
18. 날씨가 추웠기 때문에 종들과 경비병들은 숯불을 피워 놓고 둘러서서 불을 쬐고 있었습니다. 베드로도 불을 쬐며 그들과 함께 서 있었습니다.
19. 대제사장은 예수께 그의 제자들과 그의 가르침에 관해 물었습니다.
20. 예수께서 대답하셨습니다. “나는 세상에 드러내 놓고 말했다. 나는 언제나 모든 유대 사람들이 모여 있는 회당이나 성전에서 가르쳤고 숨어서 말한 것이 아무것도 없다.
21. 그런데 왜 나를 심문하는 것이냐? 내가 무슨 말을 했는지 내 말을 들은 사람들에게 물어 보아라. 그들이 내가 한 말을 알고 있다.”
22. 예수께서 이렇게 말씀하시자 가까이 있던 경비병 중 하나가 예수의 얼굴을 치며 말했습니다. “네가 대제사장에게 이런 식으로 말해도 되느냐?”
23. 예수께서 그에게 대답하셨습니다. “내가 잘못 말한 것이 있다면 그 잘못한 증거를 대 보아라. 그러나 내가 옳은 말을 했다면 어째서 나를 치느냐?”
24. 그러자 안나스는 예수를 묶은 그대로 대제사장 가야바에게 보냈습니다.
25. 시몬 베드로는 서서 불을 쬐고 있었습니다. 그때 사람들이 물었습니다. “당신도 예수의 제자 중 한 사람이지요?” 베드로는 부인하며 말했습니다. “나는 아니오!”
26. 대제사장의 하인들 중 한 사람이 거기 있었는데 그 사람은 베드로가 귀를 벤 사람의 친척이었습니다. “당신이 동산에서 예수와 함께 있는 것을 내가 보지 않았소?”
27. 베드로는 다시 부인했습니다. 그러자 곧 닭이 울었습니다.
예수께서 빌라도 앞에 서심
28. 그때 유대 사람들이 예수를 가야바의 집에서 로마 총독의 관저로 끌고 갔습니다. 때는 이른 아침이었습니다. 유대 사람들은 몸을 더럽히지 않고 유월절 음식을 먹기 위해 관저 안에는 들어가지 않았습니다.
29. 빌라도가 밖으로 나와 그들에게 물었습니다. “너희는 이 사람을 무슨 일로 고소하려는 것이냐?”
30. 그들이 대답했습니다. “이 사람이 범죄자가 아니라면 총독님께 넘기지도 않았을 것입니다.”
31. 빌라도가 말했습니다. “이 사람을 데리고 가서 너희들의 법에 따라 재판하라.” 유대 사람들이 빌라도에게 대답했습니다. “우리는 사람을 죽일 권한이 없습니다.”
32. 이는 예수께서 자기가 당할 죽음에 대해 이야기하신 그 말씀을 이루려는 것이었습니다.
33. 그러자 빌라도는 다시 관저로 들어가 예수를 불러다 물었습니다. “네가 유대 사람들의 왕이냐?”
34. 예수께서 대답하셨습니다. “네가 하는 그 말은 네 생각에서 나온 말이냐? 아니면 나에 대해 다른 사람들이 말해 준 것이냐?”
35. 빌라도가 대답했습니다. “내가 유대 사람이냐? 네 동족과 대제사장들이 너를 내게 넘겼다. 네가 저지른 일이 대체 무엇이냐?”
36. 예수께서 말씀하셨습니다. “내 나라는 이 세상에 속한 것이 아니다. 만일 내 나라가 이 세상에 속한 것이라면 내 종들이 싸워 유대 사람들이 나를 체포하지 못하도록 막았을 것이다. 그러나 내 나라는 지금 여기에 속한 것이 아니다.”
37. 빌라도가 말했습니다. “그러면 네가 왕이란 말이냐?” 예수께서 대답하셨습니다. “네 말대로 나는 왕이다. 나는 진리를 증거하려고 태어났으며 진리를 증거하려고 이 세상에 왔다. 누구든지 진리에 속한 사람은 내 말을 듣는다.”
38. 빌라도가 물었습니다. “진리가 무엇이냐?” 빌라도는 이 말을 하고 다시 유대 사람들에게 나가 말했습니다. “나는 이 사람에게서 아무 죄도 찾지 못했다.
39. 유월절에는 내가 죄수 한 사람을 놓아주는 관례가 있는데 너희들을 위해 ‘유대 사람의 왕’을 놓아주는 것이 어떻겠느냐?”
40. 그러자 그들이 다시 소리쳤습니다. “그 사람이 아닙니다. 바라바를 놓아주십시오.” 바라바는 강도였습니다.
[NIV]제18장
1. When he had finished praying, Jesus left with his disciples and crossed the Kidron Valley. On the other side there was an olive grove, and he and his disciples went into it.
2. Now Judas, who betrayed him, knew the place, because Jesus had often met there with his disciples.
3. So Judas came to the grove, guiding a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and Pharisees. They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons.
4. Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him, went out and asked them, "Who is it you want?"
5. "Jesus of Nazareth," they replied. "I am he," Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.)
6. When Jesus said, "I am he," they drew back and fell to the ground.
7. Again he asked them, "Who is it you want?" And they said, "Jesus of Nazareth."
8. "I told you that I am he," Jesus answered. "If you are looking for me, then let these men go."
9. This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: "I have not lost one of those you gave me."
10. Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant's name was Malchus.)
11. Jesus commanded Peter, "Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?"
12. Then the detachment of soldiers with its commander and the Jewish officials arrested Jesus. They bound him
13. and brought him first to Annas, who was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, the high priest that year.
14. Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that it would be good if one man died for the people.
15. Simon Peter and another disciple were following Jesus. Because this disciple was known to the high priest, he went with Jesus into the high priest's courtyard,
16. but Peter had to wait outside at the door. The other disciple, who was known to the high priest, came back, spoke to the girl on duty there and brought Peter in.
17. "You are not one of his disciples, are you?" the girl at the door asked Peter. He replied, "I am not."
18. It was cold, and the servants and officials stood around a fire they had made to keep warm. Peter also was standing with them, warming himself.
19. Meanwhile, the high priest questioned Jesus about his disciples and his teaching.
20. "I have spoken openly to the world," Jesus replied. "I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret.
21. Why question me? Ask those who heard me. Surely they know what I said."
22. When Jesus said this, one of the officials nearby struck him in the face. "Is this the way you answer the high priest?" he demanded.
23. "If I said something wrong," Jesus replied, "testify as to what is wrong. But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?"
24. Then Annas sent him, still bound, to Caiaphas the high priest.
25. As Simon Peter stood warming himself, he was asked, "You are not one of his disciples, are you?" He denied it, saying, "I am not."
26. One of the high priest's servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, challenged him, "Didn't I see you with him in the olive grove?"
27. Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow.
28. Then the Jews led Jesus from Caiaphas to the palace of the Roman governor. By now it was early morning, and to avoid ceremonial uncleanness the Jews did not enter the palace; they wanted to be able to eat the Passover.
29. So Pilate came out to them and asked, "What charges are you bringing against this man?"
30. "If he were not a criminal," they replied, "we would not have handed him over to you."
31. Pilate said, "Take him yourselves and judge him by your own law." "But we have no right to execute anyone," the Jews objected.
32. This happened so that the words Jesus had spoken indicating the kind of death he was going to die would be fulfilled.
33. Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, "Are you the king of the Jews?"
34. "Is that your own idea," Jesus asked, "or did others talk to you about me?"
35. "Am I a Jew?" Pilate replied. "It was your people and your chief priests who handed you over to me. What is it you have done?"
36. Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."
37. "You are a king, then!" said Pilate. Jesus answered, "You are right in saying I am a king. In fact, for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me."
38. "What is truth?" Pilate asked. With this he went out again to the Jews and said, "I find no basis for a charge against him.
39. But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release `the king of the Jews'?"
40. They shouted back, "No, not him! Give us Barabbas!" Now Barabbas had taken part in a rebellion.
