[아삽의 시, 지휘자 여두둔을 위해 쓴 노래]

1.  내가 하나님께 도와 달라고 부르짖었습니다. 내 목소리로 하나님께 내 말을 들어 달라고 부르짖었습니다. 그랬더니 내게 귀를 기울이셨습니다.
2.  내가 고난 가운데 여호와를 찾았습니다. 밤새도록 지치지 않고 손을 뻗었고 내 영혼은 위로받기조차 거절했습니다.
3.  나는 주를 생각하면서 속상해했습니다. 원망할 수밖에 없었고 내 영이 어쩔 줄 몰랐습니다. (셀라)
4.  주께서 눈을 감지도 못하게 하시니 너무 괴로워서 말도 못하겠습니다.
5.  내가 옛날, 오래 전 일을 생각해 봅니다.

6.  밤에 부르던 내 노래를 기억해 봅니다. 내가 마음으로 깊이 생각하며 영에게 곰곰이 물어봅니다.
7.  “여호와께서 영원히 버리시려나? 더 이상 은총을 베풀지 않으시려나?
8.  그 신실하신 사랑이 영원히 그쳤는가? 그 약속이 영원히 끝장나 버렸나?
9.  하나님께서 은혜 베푸시기를 잊어버리셨나? 진노하셔서 그 부드럽던 자비의 마음을 거두셨나?” (셀라)
10.  그러고 나서 나는 말했습니다. “내가 정말 연약하기 짝이 없구나. 지극히 높으신 분의 오른손에 붙잡혀 있을 때를 기억해 보자.”

11.  여호와께서 하신 일들을 내가 기억하겠습니다. 내가 정말 오래 전에 주께서 하신 기적들을 기억해 내겠습니다.
12.  내가 또한 주의 모든 일들을 깊이 생각하고 주께서 하신 일들을 말하겠습니다.
13.  오 하나님이여, 주의 길은 거룩합니다. 우리 하나님처럼 위대한 신이 어디 있겠습니까?
14.  주께서는 기적을 일으키시는 하나님이십니다. 저 백성들 가운데 주의 힘을 보여 주시지 않으셨습니까!
15.  주께서 그 팔로 주의 백성들을, 야곱과 요셉의 아들들을 구원하시지 않으셨습니까!

16.  오 하나님이여, 물들이 주를 보았습니다. 물들이 주를 보고는 두려워서 저 깊은 곳까지 몸서리를 쳤습니다.
17.  구름이 물을 쏟아 부었고 하늘이 천둥 소리를 내보냈으며 주의 화살도 이리저리 날아다녔습니다.
18.  주의 천둥 소리가 하늘에 있었고 주의 번개가 세상에 번쩍거렸으며 땅이 흔들리고 요동쳤습니다.
19.  주의 길이 바다 가운데 있고 주의 길이 큰 물 가운데 있지만 주의 발자국은 보이지 않습니다.
20.  주께서는 주의 백성들을 양 떼처럼 모세와 아론의 손으로 인도하셨습니다.

1.  I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.
2.  In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord: my sore ran in the night, and ceased not: my soul refused to be comforted.
3.  I remembered God, and was troubled: I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
4.  Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
5.  I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.

6.  I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search.
7.  Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?
8.  Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?
9.  Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.
10.  And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

11.  I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.
12.  I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
13.  Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
14.  Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
15.  Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.

16.  The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.
17.  The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.
18.  The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
19.  Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.
20.  Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

[아삽의 마스길]

 

1.  오 내 백성들아, 내 가르침을 들으라. 내 입으로 하는 말에 귀 기울이라.
2.  내가 입을 열어 비유를 들고 옛날부터 전해 오는 비밀스러운 일들을 말해 주리라.
3.  그것은 우리가 들어서 아는 것이고 우리 조상들이 우리에게 전해 준 것이다.
4.  우리가 그것들을 자녀들에게 숨기지 않고 여호와께서 하신 훌륭한 일들과 그 능력과 그분이 하신 놀라운 일들을 다음 세대에 전해 줄 것이다.
5.  그분은 야곱을 위해 계명을 세우시고 이스라엘을 위해 율법을 정하셔서 우리 조상들에게 그것을 자녀들에게 가르치라고 명령하셨다.

6.  그래서 다음 세대가 그것을 알고 아직 태어나지 않은 자녀들까지도 그것을 알며 또 그 자녀들에게도 전하도록 하셨다.
7.  그러면 그들이 하나님을 의지하고 그분이 하신 일들을 잊지 않으며 오직 그 계명을 지킬 것이고
8.  그 조상들처럼 고집 세고 반항적인 세대가 되지 않을 것이다. 그들의 마음은 하나님께 바르지 못했고 영으로도 하나님께 신실하지 못했다.
9.  에브라임의 자손들은 무장해 활을 지니고 있었지만 전투하던 날에는 뒤로 물러나고 말았다.
10.  그들은 하나님의 언약을 지키지 않았고 그 율법대로 살기를 거부했다.

11.  그들은 하나님께서 하신 일들과 자기들에게 보여 주신 그 놀라운 일들을 다 잊어버렸다.
12.  그분이 이집트 땅 소안 들판에서 그들의 조상들이 보는 앞에서 일으키신 기적을 잊은 것이다.
13.  바다를 가르고 물을 벽처럼 세우셔서 그들을 그 가운데로 지나가게 하신 것을 말이다.
14.  그러고 나서 하나님께서 낮에는 구름으로, 밤에는 불빛으로 그들을 인도하셨고
15.  광야에서 바위를 쪼개 바닷물만큼 많은 물을 주셨으며

16.  바위의 쪼개진 틈에서도 시내를 내 강물처럼 흐르게 하셨다.
17.  그러나 그들은 광야에서 지극히 높으신 분을 성나게 함으로써 더더욱 하나님께 죄를 지었다.
18.  그들은 욕심껏 음식을 구하면서 의도적으로 하나님을 시험했다.
19.  하나님께 이런 못된 말을 했던 것이다. “하나님께서 과연 광야에서 음식상을 준비하시겠는가?
20.  보라. 하나님이 바위를 치셨더니 물이 흘러 나와 시내가 줄줄 넘쳤는데 과연 빵도 주실 수 있겠는가? 백성들에게 고기를 마련하시겠는가?”

21.  여호와께서 그 말을 듣고 몹시 진노하셨다. 야곱을 향해 불이 붙었고 이스라엘을 향해 진노하셨다.
22.  그들이 하나님을 믿지 않았고 그 구원을 의지하지 않았기 때문이다.
23.  그런데도 그분은 저 높이 있는 구름에게 명령하시고 하늘 문을 열어
24.  만나를 비같이 내려 하늘의 곡식을 그 백성들에게 주셨도다.
25.  그래서 사람이 천사의 빵을 먹게 된 것이다. 그것도 충분히 먹을 만큼 보내 주셨다.

26.  그분은 하늘에서 동쪽 바람이 불게 하시고 능력으로 남쪽 바람을 보내셨다.
27.  그분은 먼지가 일듯 그들에게 고기를 내려 주셨는데 그것은 바닷가의 모래알처럼 많은 새들이었다.
28.  그분은 새들이 그 진영 안에, 그들이 사는 곳에 떨어지게 하셨다.
29.  그리하여 그들은 배부를 때까지 실컷 먹게 됐다. 하나님께서 그들이 욕심 부린 대로 주신 것이다.
30.  그러나 그들은 그 욕망을 벗어던질 줄 몰랐다. 그 음식이 아직 그들의 입속에 있을 때

31.  하나님의 진노가 그들에게 닥쳤다. 하나님께서 그들 가운데 가장 살찐 사람들을 죽이시고 이스라엘의 청년들을 뽑아내 죽이신 것이다.
32.  이 모든 것에도 그들은 여전히 죄를 지었고 하나님의 놀라운 일들을 보고도 믿지 않았다.
33.  그리하여 하나님께서는 그들에게 헛된 날들을 보내게 하셨으며 그들의 세월을 고통스럽게 끝나게 하셨다.
34.  하나님께서 그들을 죽이시자 그들은 그때서야 하나님을 찾았고 다시 간절하게 하나님께 마음을 돌이켰다.
35.  그제야 그들은 하나님이 그들의 반석이심을, 지극히 높으신 하나님이 그들의 구속자이심을 기억했던 것이다.

36.  그러나 여전히 입만 놀릴 뿐 혀로는 거짓말을 했다.
37.  그 마음은 하나님께 충성되지 못했고 하나님의 언약에 성실하지 못했다.
38.  그러나 하나님께서는 불쌍한 마음이 가득해 그들의 죄악을 용서하시고 그들을 멸망시키지 않으셨다. 몇 번이나 진노가 솟구치는 것을 참고 참으신 것이다.
39.  그들이 그저 육체에 지나지 않는 존재인 것을, 다시 돌아오지 않는 지나가는 바람인 것을 기억하셨기 때문이다.
40.  그들이 광야에서 얼마나 진노를 부르고 사막에서 얼마나 걱정을 끼쳤는지!

41.  뒤돌아 하나님을 시험하고 이스라엘의 거룩하신 분을 막아선 것이다.
42.  그들은 하나님의 손과 하나님께서 그들을 억압하는 사람들에게서 구원하신 날을 기억하지 않았다.
43.  하나님께서 이집트에서 보여 주신 표적과 소안 지역에서 보여 주신 놀라운 일들을 잊어버린 것이다.
44.  강물을 피로 변하게 해 그들이 마실 수 없게 하셨고
45.  파리 떼를 보내 그들을 삼키게 하셨고 개구리를 보내 그들을 파멸시키셨으며

46.  그들이 수확한 것을 해충들에게, 그 수고한 것을 메뚜기들에게 주셨다.
47.  또 그들의 포도나무를 우박으로 치시고 무화과나무가 서리 맞게 하셨으며
48.  소들은 우박에, 가축들은 번갯불에 내어 주셨고
49.  그들을 향해 그 타오르는 분노와 진노와 분과 고뇌를 멸망시키는 천사들의 군대를 통해 내려 보내셨다.
50.  하나님께서 진노의 길을 트셨기에 영혼들을 아낌없이 죽음에 내어 주셨고 전염병에 넘겨주셨다.

51.  그리하여 이집트에서 처음 태어난 모든 것들, 곧 함의 장막에 있는 그 힘의 근원을 치셨다.
52.  그러나 그분의 백성들은 양 떼처럼 몰고 나와 광야에서 양같이 이끄셨다.
53.  그들을 안전하게 인도하시니 그들에게는 두려움이 없었지만 백성의 적들은 바다가 집어삼켜 버렸다.
54.  그리하여 그분은 백성들을 그 거룩한 땅의 경계까지, 그 오른손이 얻어 낸 그 산까지 인도하셨다.
55.  그분은 백성 앞에서 이방 민족들을 쫓아내시고 그 땅을 그들에게 기업으로 나눠 주셨고 이스라엘 지파들을 그 땅에 정착하게 하셨다.

56.  그러나 그들은 지극히 높으신 하나님을 시험해 거역했으며 그 계명을 지키지 않았다.
57.  그들은 자기 조상들처럼 등 돌리고 성실하지 못했으며 속이는 활처럼 빗나갔다.
58.  산당을 만들어 하나님의 진노를 자아냈고 조각된 우상들로 그분의 질투심을 일으켰다.
59.  하나님께서는 그들의 말을 듣고 진노해 이스라엘을 완전히 외면하셨다.
60.  그리하여 실로의 장막을, 곧 그분이 사람들 가운데 직접 세우신 그 장막을 버리셨다.

61.  그분의 힘을 드러내는 궤를 포로와 함께 내어 주셨으며 그 영광을 적들의 손에 넘겨주셨고
62.  그 백성들을 칼에 내어 주셨다. 그분의 백성들에게 몹시 화가 나신 것이다.
63.  청년들은 불탔고 처녀들은 결혼하지 못하며
64.  제사장들은 칼에 맞아 죽었고 그 과부들은 슬퍼하며 울지도 못했다.
65.  그때 여호와께서 잠에서 깨어나신 것같이, 포도주를 마시고 외치는 용사같이

66.  그 적들의 뒤를 쫓아가 치셨고 영원히 수치를 당하게 하셨다.
67.  더구나 요셉의 장막도 거부하셨고 에브라임 지파도 선택하지 않으셨다.
68.  오직 유다 지파를, 곧 그분이 사랑하신 시온 산을 선택하셨다.
69.  그분의 성소를 높은 왕궁처럼, 영원히 세워 두신 땅처럼 지으셨다.
70.  하나님은 또한 다윗을 선택해 그분의 종으로 삼으셨고 그를 양 우리에서 끌어내

71.  새끼를 둔 어미 양을 치던 그를 불러 그분의 백성 야곱을, 그분의 소유 이스라엘을 치는 목자가 되게 하셨다.
72.  그리하여 다윗은 참된 마음으로 그들을 먹이고 능숙한 솜씨로 그들을 인도했던 것이다.

1.  Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2.  I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old:
3.  Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
4.  We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done.
5.  For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children:
6.  That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children:
7.  That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:
8.  And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
9.  The children of Ephraim, being armed, and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.
10.  They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;

11.  And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.
12.  Marvellous things did he in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
13.  He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap.
14.  In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.
15.  He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.
16.  He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
17.  And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness.
18.  And they tempted God in their heart by asking meat for their lust.
19.  Yea, they spake against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?
20.  Behold, he smote the rock, that the waters gushed out, and the streams

overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?
21.  Therefore the LORD heard this, and was wroth: so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel;
22.  Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:
23.  Though he had commanded the clouds from above, and opened the doors of heaven,
24.  And had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn of heaven.
25.  Man did eat angels' food: he sent them meat to the full.
26.  He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven: and by his power he brought in the south wind.
27.  He rained flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:
28.  And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.
29.  So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire;
30.  They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths,

31.  The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.
32.  For all this they sinned still, and believed not for his wondrous works.
33.  Therefore their days did he consume in vanity, and their years in trouble.
34.  When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and enquired early after God.
35.  And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer.
36.  Nevertheless they did flatter him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.
37.  For their heart was not right with him, neither were they stedfast in his covenant.
38.  But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.
39.  For he remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.
40.  How oft did they provoke him in the wilderness, and grieve him in the desert!

41.  Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.
42.  They remembered not his hand, nor the day when he delivered them from the enemy.
43.  How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan.
44.  And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink.
45.  He sent divers sorts of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.
46.  He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust.
47.  He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost.
48.  He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
49.  He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.
50.  He made a way to his anger; he spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence;

51.  And smote all the firstborn in Egypt; the chief of th

 

ir strength in the tabernacles of Ham:
52.  But made his own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
53.  And he led them on safely, so that they feared not: but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
54.  And he brought them to the border of his sanctuary, even to this mountain, which his right hand had purchased.
55.  He cast out the heathen also before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
56.  Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God, and kept not his testimonies:
57.  But turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers: they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
58.  For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
59.  When God heard this, he was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel:
60.  So that he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which he placed among men;

 

61.  And delivered his strength into captivity, and his glory into the enemy's hand.
62.  He gave his people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with his inheritance.
63.  The fire consumed their young men; and their maidens were not given to marriage.
64.  Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.
65.  Then the LORD awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.
66.  And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.
67.  Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim:
68.  But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.
69.  And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established for ever.
70.  He chose David also his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds:

71.  From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people, and Israel his inheritance.
72.  So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands.
